Tras un fin de semana repleto de actividades en familia, nuestros chicos han comenzado la semana en clase con sus compañeros londinenses.
Han asistido a una lección de español junto a alumnos del curso equivalente a 1˚ de ESO. Con diferentes dinámicas y juegos han ayudado a sus anfitriones a usar el español como lengua vehicular. Después, con la ayuda de la profesora de inglés y sirviéndose de las nuevas tecnologías, han presentado Ibi, el Colegio San Juan y San Pablo y comentado algunas de las diferencias culturales que han percibido y les han enriquecido en estos días de intensa y grata convivencia. Lo han hecho con un grupo del curso equivalente a 3˚de ESO.
Por la tarde, y en compañía de la profesora de Arte -arquitecta y licenciada en bellas artes-, han visitado el espectacular Tate Modern Art Gallery de Arte Contemporáneo. Contemplar la belleza de sus exposiciones temporales y de sus colecciones permanentes ha sido todo un regalo que ha culminado con la visión panorámica de esta ciudad desde la última planta del edificio que alberga el museo, una joya de la arquitectura moderna a nivel mundial.
Seguimos viviendo una gran experiencia, en una de las mejores escuelas bilingües de la capital británica, con un equipo docente especialmente acogedor que se ha volcado para que este intercambio resulte interesante para ingleses y españoles. Os aseguramos que, entre todos, lo estamos consiguiendo. Saludos desde Londres. No nos olvidamos de vosotros ni olvidaremos fácilmente esta ciudad y a quienes aquí nos hacen sentirnos como en casa.
After having spent the weekend with their host families and taking part in different activities, our students have started the week at school with their partners.
Today they attended a Spanish lesson with Year 8 students which involved games and activities in which they helped their hosts with their Spanish. Afterwards, with the help of the school’s English teacher and through the use of IT, the students prepared a presentation about Ibi, Spain, San Juan y San Pablo, as well as explaining some of the differences they have noticed between the two countries. This activity was carried out with some of the exchange partners and the rest of Year 10.
In the afternoon, with the help of the Art and Design teacher, they visited the amazing Tate Modern Art Gallery. This was a brilliant opportunity to take in and experience, firsthand, an amazing collection of artwork, as well as going up to the 10th floor where they were able to see views of the entire city.
We’re still reaping the benefits of this adventure in one of the best bilingual schools in the British capital, alongside a team of teachers who are extremely welcoming, who have ensured that the exchange has been an interesting and beneficial experience for both the English and Spanish students alike.
